One of the most important stages of your child’s life is the time between birth and age 5. Not only does it help them get ready for school life; it also prepares them for their future learning and successes.
At Little Potters Day Nursery, we specialise in helping children develop and learn new skills, acquire new knowledge and demonstrate their understanding through seven different areas of development;

- Personal, social and emotional development

- Understanding the world
- Expressive arts and design
These seven areas are used to plan your child’s individual learning and activities. Highly experienced and fully qualified, our friendly and dedicated educarers will teach and support your child to make sure that each activity is suited to your child’s unique needs.
This stage, or the Early Years Foundation Stage as it is known, is similar to that of a curriculum in a primary school, but is ideally suited to the development of very young children.
Entirely flexible so that our staff can easily follow your child’s unique needs and interests, this stage allows children to play and explore through creative and critical thinking both inside and out.
Monitor how your child is doing
We will make sure that you are kept fully updated on how your child is developing and progressing. When your child is aged 2, we will send you a written summary of how they are progressing against the three prime areas of learning; communication and language, personal, social and emotional development and physical development.
This will highlight where your child is doing well and any areas where they might need some extra help or support.
We know that the transition from nursery to school can be a challenging and stressful one, which is why we ensure that this is as hassle free for you and your child as possible. We work closely with the local schools and community to make sure that, when the time comes, the transition goes as smoothly as possible.

Early years daycare is one of the most heavily regulated sectors in the UK, and rightly important for protecting your child’s health, safety and development. As a result, nursery staff have to keep records for all children’s learning progress, and this is where Famly comes in. Famly is a computer programme/app that allows our staff to access your child’s records and monitor their progress.
The added advantage of this system is that you can have online access to your child’s record, which can include photos, videos and even audio clips. You are only a few clicks away from your child, and provides instant two-way communication between you, your child and our staff.
